I am looking to buy a tow hook for my car before i put it all back together.

Does anyone know if there are legal/engineering issues with these? Has anyone put one on a legnum before and can suggest a good mounting point?

This is the one i have in mind...

I want do look at getting a fixed Tow Hook Cover solution that most likely cannot be removed.

Will be good to see this done though! :D

Yeah I have been considering this too.

I reckon if I am ever in a situation where I really need to be towed, I wont mind flexing the front bar while it's happening... can't end up looking worse than the gap I currently have :/

Like this would probably be illegal. You can imagine the damage it would do to a pedestrian.

lol When I first read that I thought, why have a tow hook at all if you cant remove its cover...????

If the unit was mounted within the actual bumper and didn't protrude out from the vehicle, I dont see how it would be illegal.

Bad wording that, actually. I might have to draw a picture.

Essentially yes for Victoria road laws (can't remember exactly which section, I'll have to look it up), just as how wheels and exhaust must be flush with the extremities of the vehicle.

Rehashing a really old thread here, but what is this mod you speak of?? My cover fell off and I miss it :(

No tow hook cover mod? Mine's never had the tow hook cover, and I'm hoping to make it look a bit better somehow.

Dawso was being facetious, they look incomplete without a tow hook cover.

A permanent, obvious tow hook like the one in the picture simply screams "My car breaks down all the time and I get towed so often that this is worth it"

Thanks guys, already got one in the mail.

I was thinking of a rubber skirt and moulding the cutout in to make it look like a feature.
