Finding a workshop that wouldn't stuff my car car was my main fear when importing my VR4

So feel free to post up any VR4 friendly Workshops, or Mitsubishi dealers
And tell us of your experiences

The "official" list is here. A workshop will be added once it has been recommended and confirmed by another member.

These are the guys who are doing all my work! One of the only places I will trust with my cars. They helped me setup my Foz which ended up producing 200KWS at the wheels! So they know what they are doing.
They do not however tune anything as they do not have a dyno. They only do mechanics. Good pricing, and dont mind if you source the parts and have them install them.

Karl is the guy to ask for. Call him if you have any questions. He has already done a service on a Legnum.

Well i Picked my Car up from getting a Major at Techsports and they kick ass.

Well priced, and they took a real interest in helping me find stuff for my weird wagon

There are quite a few VR4 owners (or soon to be) out in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne - if we all use the same workshop they will become Legnum/Galant experts and should also look after us price-wise.

Do Techsport have a 4wd dyno Jason?

if people ring me at work about mitsi stuff and they are from melb techsport is the 1st place i mention to them :) well known and plenty od experience. jeff beaumont is from techsport. if anyone follows duttons and rallies they will know who he is :)

Not sure if they have a Dyno on site, as it is only a smallish workshop they have, but i am sure they know how to get access to one easily.

Jeff is a top bloke, very very helpful

They will become Legnum pro's soon, because i am going to get all my stuff done there

These are the guys who did the clutch and flywheel on my car recently.

Don't go near this guy. He is a total fuck head and wont take responsibility for damaging the gearbox housing. At first he said he'd repair it but has now gone back on his word. And denies that it was his fault.

I had my Super VR4 fitted with alarm/immobiliser/central locking there. When I walked into the place, the first bloke recognised it straight away and I knew it was in good hands when he said "we hef plenty of those back home in Nu Zelund" (no offence to any of our NZ brethren here :D)

Go go gadget NZ auto-electricians who know about these cars!

tried them out without much success. Couldn't really help out much.
On the other hand, I got a service and general check of the car done on the Tuesday just passed and Neal couldn't have been more helpful. Will be getting him to supply and fit a transmission cooler in the next month.

Highly recommend.

These guys apparently are Mitzi specialists and also have a Dyno for full tuning etc
heaps of Evo's and WRX sitting out front of the place.

I'm going to try MRT at Ryde/Rhodes when my car gets here. i'll let you know if they are any good

Hey gball,

Have you got your car yet ??? I was thinking of trying MRT too when I read your post & was wondering whether you had contacted them at all ?

There are no mentions at all of VR4s on their website so I've not touched them yet......

I used these guys the other week and wasn't super impressed. They seem pretty expensive and very keen to sell you expensive Jap stuff (which is expected of a performance shop) - I'm going to go to Neal Lowe next time. They also said they'd get some quotes for me on exhaust and coilovers and still haven't got back to me.

cheers

Lee
