What is the closest new car to a VR-4?

I'm really starting to think it is the Subaru or nothing. Sounds like, other than the sort of clumsy styling, Subaru have done a great job on the new Legacy. I guess it wouldn't even look that bad if it wasn't following on from the last one, which was gorgeous.

The S402's were good looking I prefer that shape without out the bonnet scoop though, they look lower and sleeker without it.

I don't think you can include Audis Volvos, VWs etc because to be a VR4 equivalent they need to be at least slightly interesting and possess a bit of personality. None of those manufacturers fit that bill.

Considering there's been reviews which rate the current S4 above the 335i...

I too would've gotten a last-gen Libacy if I could pony up the dough. To me, they're the closest current match.

Shame they completely butt****ed it up with the new ones.

Yea but maybe he means the top of the line model (T6) which is what we're comparing with here, is ONLY available as an auto.
