I think Brad has his info backwards.

All prefacelifts, manual and auto, have AYC.
All auto's have AYC.
All Type S have AYC.

Gotta watch out for the manual Type V - which doesn't.

Tim if you haven't organised a broker and paid them for their services they will find other buyers for their manuals, and considering how rare and sought-after MT cars are you might be waiting quite some time before you see one you're able to buy...

I know what you mean.. I've been going back through my email archive though and looking at all the Galants J-Spec has sent out over the last 12 months or so that I should have bought! So I'm pretty confident something will come up on one of the lists. That's how I found my old Celsior a few years back. Not sure really why I haven't contracted someone to look for one for me, guess I just don't wanna be locked in just yet. In a few months time if nothing has come up I might organise a broker.

Evan - yeah sure they do, check out an E31's interior, it still looks nice.

Point taken, but the price!! (new, and now. Can't find one for under $40k) E38 interiors are really nice, E46s are fine, E39s are great, but E32s/E34s/E36s... bleh.

Sydo, that isn't true. In fact I've seen a few that Iron Chef has had in that have been facelift auto Type V's without AYC.

Manual Type V Galants exist without AYC, but Manual Type V Legnums do no exist!

You're right about all prefacelifts having AYC and Type S's though.

Evan - over here early 850's go for $15-20k, even NZ new ones. My 850CSi is a little rarer I love E38's, they are all round my favourite BMW

A pre-facelifts had AYC.

Facelift Galants came in manual or auto Type V (no AYC) and auto-only Type S (with AYC)

Facelift Legnums came in manual or auto Type S (with AYC) or auto-only Type V (without AYC).
