When you say another, could you point me in the direction of the others. I wouldnt mind knowing what the options are.

r34 gtt calipers with jza80 supra (non turbo) discs

i think project mu or endless also do a evo4 kit ($$$$)

alcon brakes also do a kit for magna's ($$$$)

theyre a few others but theyre mostly about $3000 minimum

couldnt u just go r33/r34 calipers and rotors. why would u go supra rotors.

not sure, thats just the disks they use to work with the brackets. they might hav differnt hub offsets

Notice the Brake Caliper bracket? looks kinda 'chunky' and cheap in some ways...

Though, yes the Project Mu do brake caliper upgrades for Evo4, though only for the rear oddly enough

At the end of the day, if you do wish to upgrade the Pre-Facelift as a 'bolt on' alternative is to purchase ANY brake kit which supplies for a Mitsubishi Eclipse front (as the Caliper mount spacing, rotor size is the same.. ) and get evo rear

Though again, you'd be looking at $2500 front for whatever caliper/rotor you wish to get

chunky is good when it comes to a brake bracket, you would want your stopping ability to be determined by 2mm sheet of stainless would you?

as far as cheap goes, i dunno how billet aluminium can be and look cheap. its probs a bad photo. nothin a can of paint cant fix.

US$822 + freight does equal quite a bit, and I'd imagine performance pads and discs would be harder to find than brembo ones as well.

edit, wrong thread, still wrting reply to this one lol

ok,

$822 gives you: recondition calipers, slotted rotors, pads, lines, brackets and bolts.

to do a brembo conversion on a p/fl

calipers: $500 (front only)
disks: $500 (brand new slotted DBA's)
pads: $200ish
lines $?
abs sensor: $?
FL carriers: $?

so with half the list completed, we/re at 1200.00 (no postage)

i would save up and get the brembos. i used to do cheap work around upgrads before and u end up spending more money than if u did it right the first time.

Yeah with hub carriers totalling only $250 with sensors from Quinton ill still be doing that if i ever have any money.

ok ok

seems brembo's are the only way to go :(

Dont get me wrong its good to see people looking into options that are out there but when it comes to brakes im not a fan of brackets and adaptors. I'd prefer and feel safer with them bolted straight on there. So when someone finds a direct bolt on ill be there asking many questions lol.

cool cool, i will now begin the never ending hunt for some calipers with a 130mm spacing. lets hope europe can offer us something

(PS: 3000gt calipers are 160mm, so good for all FL's)

Don't worry about it, Paul.

I like the idea, same with the JZA80 option. Nothing wrong with them. Just because they are Brembos doesn't mean they are the be all and end all.

just got an email from the fellas.

39 USdollars postage

brackets are no differnt to any other aftermarket big brake kit you buy.

i think i will buy these with the next 8months, we'll see how it goes.

cheers Joel btw, im with you
