Hey all, again it seems i am posting for help rather than to help....I have developed a coolant leak from somewhere. Attached are some photos. I have a brand new alloy rad and from what i can see there is no leaking hoses or joints. Any thoughts of where it might be coming from? There is no visible signs of it coming from the overflow but its located somewhere below that spot, from the block even.

can't be much else, there is nothing else it can leak from over there, besides the very rare chance the block is cracked.

Yes similar to when my pump started to leak as well

How much of a mission was that fix for you Pete?
Anyone else had to do theirs or had to do anything with the water pump? Looks like a pretty nasty spot where it is to me

It took me 2 days but I changed all the lash adjusters as well . Some of the bolts are awkward to get at but the guide on CVR4 is great. Only thing missing is a guide for the waterpump which I intended to write but a pc failure reulted in a loss of all the pics I took for it. Very annoying.

its one of those things that should be changed with the cambelt,

so if that hasn't been done already,
do the full job because it all has to come off anyway.
(tensioner's, pulleys, belt, water pump, and aux belts)

and if you have already done the cambelt...
the bills going to be similar to that, as its the same amount of labour.

Yeah i am starting to get some quotes together now. It will definitely turn into a major service as i need plugs, trans service and while i was doing that i want to do AYC. So my once vibrant bank account is now going to placed on life support

black txt is a bad thing ok, please dont use it!

and why reuse it just to save a few $$ not worth it IMO if your spending all that money,
do it once, do it right

Trevor, which shop did you get the quote from?!

Carmen imports. I appreciated that they took the time to quote me. I have called a couple of other places and was given the whole " wont know until the job is finished " response.

yes i call it a few dollars compared to having to rebuild a engine after the belt snaps,
if anything do it for piece of mind.

if your not going to do the belt, dont do anything else but the water pump,
if the belts been done peoperly in japan, everything else should have been aswell,

but obviously not because the pump is leaking,

why take the chance?
