damn this sounds really cool i think i am going to have to get this

lee it gave you a KW rating is that while driving the car ? it does like a dyno run does it ?

sorry guys i know nothing about this side of cars, but i am keen to find out more.

so does that mean you can change something in the car and do the run again and get the power increase etc ?

for eg you said you changed muffler does it give you the new reading meaning you can compare it to old and see what improvement there was after the exhaust was added ?

or does it just gues ?

thanks for letting the newb add his worthless bit lol

Everytime you log, it keeps the log saved as a .csv file (or spreadsheet type file). You can then log again after making changes, and open the new log and the old one and compare them side by side using either the program supplied, or MS Excel.

I want to know if it really can open the AYC left, right and proportioning valves...

I take it this software / cable only allows updates / changes to certain Scubi ECU's?

Tried the AYC ecu but no luck with getting the valves to operate but this is only the second time I've used evoscan so it could be me but I could get things related to the engine to go on and off

Hmmmm well I took ver 2.3 out for a test this arvo and I'm not very impressed. The release notes did mention removing pin 9 from my cable connector but I'm not sure how to count the pins. Do you start from the top left and count to the right?

I couldn't log or extract errors from ABS or AYC nor could I read error codes from the main ECU which I could do with 2.2 :(

Also, the logging I did was not especially helpful e.g. (columns are log seconds, rpm, speed)
Code:

As you can see the speed value is very slow to update.

Maybe I've got too many items being logged? I had it set to not log to screen and 'Loggin SuperSpeed' on.

I've attached the EvoScan graph of around the same time, it looks crap :(

On the positive side it only logged a small number of knocks under 'heavy' accelleration which is good :)

Lee if you're looking at the pins in the end of your plug, you count from the RIGHT. They are numbered as per the plug on the loom, see here:

So pin 9 is bottom right :)

It can make changes to the flashable Evo ECUs as well.
Hmm that's interesting - does that mean we could remap an Evo ECU to run a VR4?

Well I definitely don't have a pin 9 then. Bugger, I was hoping that was why the AYC logging wasn't working

I'm not sure how you'd get that to work with the Evo ECU expecting 4 injectors?

Apart from that, I guess if you got it all wired up right(and the VR4 sensors send signals within the ranges it expected) the Evo ECU wouldn't know the difference.

Probably better to save yourself a lot of hard work and buy an interceptor or replacement ECU.

EvoScan 2.4 just came out - apparently if fixes the inaccurate graphing I posted about.

Anyone who's bought it should have got an email.

cheers

Here's some graphs of my quarter mile runs yesterday.

You can see my clutch shudder in the first one where the rpm jumps around after I change gear. I bogged down in all 3 runs as you can see I let the clutch out at around 3500 (50 on the Y axis is 5000rpm) but then the revs drop right down before taking off again. Unfortunately I forgot to log my quickest run as a comparison of a better launch.

Yeah, the speed output seems to be at bigger intervals than other signals like RPM, O2 etc which are smoother. I'm not sure if thats due to the ECU or logger software.

Why's the graph so jagged Lee? Is that just an artifact caused by the software?

Nah, its the square wheels :ROFLMAO:

With that new clutch Lee, be brave mate and side step it at 6000rpm for a massive launch :D

Just tried out 2.5 rev of Evoscan on the Face Lift under Vista and I couldn't even get it to log any error codes. Kept getting failed to connect message. Yet managed to disable and re-enable an injector. Strange!!!
