So It was raining heavily over the weekend and I drove through some water, not that deep, easily got through.
However about 15mins later I heard a ticking noise on the right side of my steering wheel. I know there's an Imobilizer (previous owner installed) down there, and fuses etc. it was late I got home couldn't be bothered tracing noise.
Following morning. Got in the car and my right indicator is stuck on.
Swapped the fuse- no change.
Got a new relay- no change.

So I'm left with- stalk internals are bust.
Or
Imobilizer has a bust relay inside.
Or....
Any other suggestions.

Hazard lights still work,
When I unlock the car which is hooked to the Imobilizer the blinkers still work.
But as soon as I'm on accessories the right blinker is stuck on...

Please help!!!!

Yeah sounds like the combination switch on the column to me. Unless the water caused a temporary short which did something odd to the flasher unit.

@6A13TT TYPE S thats what I thought to.
It was making a ticking noise that sounded electrical, I assumed relay or fuse jumping but when it wasn't them... Just wondering what else would cause that noise and then lead to the blinker being stuck on... Very unusual either way! When you say "flasher unit" what exactly do you mean? Sorry for the silly question. :S

So, due to everyone's advice I went with the idea that something in the stalk was stuffed...
So! I pulled the stalk off!
How to pull stalk off-
1. Undo 3 screws holding steering wheel cover off.
2. Undo the 2 screw holding the stalk on.
3. Disconnect the 2 electrical plugs on the stalk.
Now you've got the stalk!

Second step is to pull the stalk apart to find the busted peice!

1. Undo the two screw holding the stalks cover on
2. Use a small flat head to lift the clips up to pull the 2 covers off.

If you look closely you can see the small length of plastic that was broken. Which as you use your indicators moves those contacts back and forth to send current for the indicators.
Because it was snapped it was stuck in one spot hence the right blinker was on.
I used a 2 part apoxy to glue it back in place and now my stalk works again!!!

Couldn't wait long enough or be bothered paying for a new one.

Hope this helps someone in the future!!
