I'm onto it thanks heaps for the possible alternatives yeh just want her back on the road dying to get back in it again and make it to a meet

have spoken to mark again and he also tells me the gearbox has had a pretty hard life so far so its getting new synchro assy's for 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th and new forks...so he tells me the price for the 3rd synchro alone..1300 from tokyo mitsi. anyway all sorted getting all the parts from a low km 2nd hand manual facelift box..apparently slightly better design than pfl. he also tells me his source for gearboxs in S.A tells him its not uncommon for 2nd and 3rd gear to "explode" for want of a better word, in these gearboxes though ive never heard such things?
