At minimum you HAVE to run the SPIII in your transmission. Amsoil, as it is fully synthetic, "should" be a better fluid but it cost's double that of the Mitsi stuff. The Mitsi stuff will be fine if you want/need to save some coin.

thanks for that,

ohh forgot to mention the car is very jerky in between changes, especially between 3rd and 4th....

might spend the extra coinage and get amsoil??

The SPIII is reasonably priced so you could afford to change it more often.

Where are you buying the Amsoil from, Mudgeeraba?
Are you going to Gavin Woodto do the service?

If you change the mitsi oil every 15,000km it will be about as good as the amsoil. The amsoil however is fully synth and can last for more like 40-50,000km

I haven't heard anything bad about them.
If all you are getting done is the fluid change, you should get a quote from mitsi also just as a comparo.

ah yea, good idea, the reason why i am taking it to gavin is that they do ayc aswell,

its getting ALL of its oils changed thought would be easier in the one place

mitsu genuine parts are comming from garry at zupps southport... he is the only one there who knows the cars it seems lol

to me.. the $65 difference between Mitsu SPIII and Amsoil is nothing since i want my car to last me for quite a long time..

What parts are you getting and how much are you being charged? Only reason i ask is if you are after genuine parts you should be buying them from NZ, cheapest way to buy parts hands down imo.
If you dont mind, can you pm me what they charge for an AYC service (if you know)

$65 per 5ltr:banghead: you need 10 remember...

I dont mind still..

if you're doing your tranny.. then you need 10 Liters..

but if its only the AYC, then I believe 5 liters is definitely more than enough to also do the Power Steering with it :)

personally the misti stuff is good enough,

its a 3rd of the price of the amsoil,
and unless your thrashing the shit out of it constantly,
its good for at least 25thou km, (imo) dunno what the official service period is?

i would use the mitsi stuff, and invest the savings in a trans cooler.

if theres a real problem with the gear box, no matter which you use the problem will still be there,
one may mask it better, but thats about it.

May have now, I don't know. But it was $33.35 at the end of March when I bought some.

i was quoted $38.25 for 5L of mitsu stuff, so ordered 3 of them.. dunno how they manage all the weird pricing lol
