I got told I need to provide descriptive thread titles.

Is this a normal or excessive build-up on the gearbox drain plug?

Because it never rains but it pours, there's something up with the drivetrain. I was asked to do an oil drain inspection and check for metal. It is sitting in the container. I will be decanting it in an hour.

Under 20,000km. Long story short, a bearing has failed somewhere in the drivetrain. The gearbox is still under reconditioned, and they requested an oil drain inspection.

Ah, well it seems like other manual/diff plugs I've seen, but I'm not sure if bearing components are typically metallic, how'd the decanting go?

Fairly good.

Found the problem, I'll be shopping for a transfer case. The oil in it was totally clear! I couldn't put any more than 200ml back in either.
