If you need to step on the clutch to start your car then Im pretty sure you have one...

Interesting...so we don't all need to step on the clutch to start our manual VR4s then? I just thought it was some safety mechanism.

Legnum,

vr4 doesn't even have the key antenna and all the other stuff like the magna and lancer has. Id say its because the Japanese are bit more honest than the rest of the world so there was no need to implement something intended for their own market.

Its quite common for japanese to install remote starting. Particularly in colder climates. Ive always suspected this is why immobilisers are left off there.

On the topic of single button incorporated factory keys, anyone know what battery the key takes?
(it's not the same as the one button key fob, Ive already checked)

Okay Ive got the battery, cr1616.
But in the key is there supposed to be anything in the but where the battery sits like a bit of metal to complete the circuit?(on the other side of the key when you take it apart, not the side with the button/circuit board

There was a thread about this exact same thing before, I'm pretty sure. Have a look and see what they did for a solution.
