Hey, every since I've got the car (99' fl auto legnum) I have been having this strange issue

When cruising along the road at a constant speed (typically around 60 and in fifth, but has happened at other speed) I slowly start to develop and slow vibration
that almost feels like a flat spot in the tyre, but alot more round. the only way I can stop this vibration is to drop is down a gear and/or speed up

It's a little disconcerting as I may have to sell the car in the near future and I don't want to sell someone a problem

Any ideas?

going to this week, but the fact that it is quite intermittent and has been getting worse steers me towards something else

Engine mounts, drive shafts, wheel balance, hard to say....

My auto does this, and it only does at cruising speeds too.
From my observations, it only happens when the torque converter unlocks to reduce rpm.

Hmm thought it'd be a bit hard to pinpoint...

That seems to be the same here, i'll get a wheel balance and alignment and flush the tranny and see what happens

i would say engine mounts......

Wheel balance, buckled wheel, egged tyres, shagged bushes, engine mounts, shocks etc etc etc... take your pick. I've had/have most of those. Welcome to VR4 ownership :(

Thanks for the input! and yes seems like a few items like to wear out at the same time..

wheel alignment and balance and then check the lcas and driveshafts for play

hopefully it'll work!

I have a feeling it'll be the torque converters internal clutch

Well the transmission is getting flushed next weekend so I'll report back

Okay i pumped the tyres up to 34 psi front and 32psi back (they had dropped to 28 all round because it was sitting for a week or two)

Vibration has completely dissapeared, I'm happy it is but also at a loss ahha

Sorry to wake up an old thread but i have discovered a similar issue in my vehicle. Happens at or about 60kph going up hill on moderate throttle. as soon as i dip in to the gas or touch the brakes it stops. Just had the trans flushed and i don't think its a wheel because the issue is only at that particular speed under those particular circumstances. I will check the tire pressure shortly.

Check your engine mounts and CV boots to see if they are worn out :)

i'd go with worn/shagged engine roll stopper - mainly the rear one..

I think Steve was having this issue previously..

OK, will take a look at those items. If i said i suspect that the vibration is originating in the left rear of the car would that make this easier or harder to pinpoint?
