Hi Guys,

was driving home today in the Super, and leaving work there is a driveway, this was full of water, the super, hesitated as i drove through, almost like it cut out momentarilly, but then kept going, only thing is i have 2 lights on the dash that i don't normally have - the TCL OFF, and another orange one in the center of the console (see attached), as i'm moving and everything is in boxes, i can't find the manual i have, any idea what these lights are? also, she seems sluggish now, and if i rev, i get a 'pop' from the exhaust that i don't normally get, she's also holding revs, she normally drops off quickly once i lift of the accellerator, now she'll hold revs and drop slowly.... any ideas????

Hope you all had a great Christmas, and a happy new year to you all! I will be here more next year, and i will upload the pics of the Super meet (Brad & I lol)

Al

Well the orange one is the "check engine" light, which is probably not that good. The other one is the "Traction Control Off" light.

aaargh, she's just been serviced lol! could it be water related??

I'm no expert but I'd be thinking that if they appeared just after you got the car wet, the issue is likely to be electrical. Electricity doesn't love water.

How deep was the water? I've driven through some pretty massive puddles last time there was floods in the area and i've got no plastic engine shield and haven't had any issues.

the water was about 5 or 6 inches, i've driven through much worse!

Funnily enough Alan, I get the same lights coming up on my Super. Maybe we have extra features lol.
Mine come up randomly though, but in always the same sequence;

TCL OFF -> few seconds inbetween -> ENGINE LIGHT.

Is yours the same ??

Hey Guys,

At this time I wouldnt be worried about the TCL OFF light.

With certain Engine codes, the ECU will force the Traction Control to off.

Follow the Diagnostic thread to short Pin 1 of the diagnostic connector and determine what the Engine Code is and work on resolving this first.

well, this sound stupid, but i had similar experience when i bought my car. i gave bit of jerk on the vac line and it was gone... true story

I would check all of the connections in the engine bay, even pulling them off and putting them back on again.

You say the car had recently been serviced........ Then take it back to the mechanic and ask him whats going on.

ok, update time! the mechanic has found it's the airflow meter, he's bodgied a meter from a magna in, and she runs fine, problem is, the magna meter is bigger, different connections etc, so will not be a permanent solution, so anyone know where i can get an airflow meter from???

Thanks guys!

If it is bigger then I'd see it as an upgrade :)

I don't have one spare sorry. I'm sure someone will.

lol yes, the only thing is he can't close the bonnet! lol

Relocate it maybe so you can close the bonnet....or turn it on its side maybe....

The thing we don't know is whether or not it is able to deal with enough power. An RB20 AFM is the same size as a Z32 AFM, but the Z32 AFM's electrics can handle double the power. Physical size isn't everything.

Hey Guys,

I have one spare, since it turned out not to be my airflow meter causing all my issues.

Will look what it cost me later today and let you know.

Regards

Gavin
