Tom, you haven't seen my car thread as well as TTVR4's haven't you?

we recently bought the same design as what you have posted but in fiberglass..

from what the seller told me, the bonnet was molded using the JDM models.. I dont think it is the VR-4 cause clearly there are some clearance issues.. its no biggie... they're just modifications to clear small things..

Really fast Magna wagon thingy
I just had a look, Nice. You guys got the "duraflex" bonnet then. I had decided the actual bonnet skin would be the same, just not sure about clearance underneath.
All you had to do was adjust latch and trim to fit around the radiator cap?

Hmm, they don't look quite right some how. I think the middle vent needs to move forward and the side vents move backwards.

Anyone got pics of the CF bonnets painted Trigger Mauve? Can't decide between fiberglass and CF but want the bonnet to match the body colour.

I think CF with Trigger is FTW.

fibreglass bonnets are ok with bonnet pins in them

Went carbon flush style aerocatches with mine in the end, finished product below.

Looks pretty sweet. How do the aero latches work? And where did you get the bonnet from with price?

Do you know if this one fits straight on or needs a bit of work?

This bonnet fits straight on, or as close as you'll get with most after market ones anyway (just depends how picky you are tbh).

I adjusted the usual stuff e.g. bump stops and the aerocatch latches when installed did the rest.

Quite a few have this bonnet installed, probably more on clubvr4 as the group buys came through Xanadu - haven't heard 1 complaint yet!

Those bonnets don't need any bonnet pins at all, they come with the standard latch and look more "factory" like without them.

Yeah I wasn't certain how the standard latch was attached prior to purchasing so wanted the added insurance that the aerocatch latches provide.

Now that I have the latches there I still have a little i'm going to do to finish it off:
1. Bond the latches in place as a secondary measure, simply bolting them to the outer skin isn't enough imo
2. Reposition the bonnet sensor / contact point for my alarm after the cutouts for the aerocatch latches were made.
(race tape and cupboard ftw as a temporary measure hah)

Straight fibreglass would be cheaper obviously but both can be painted.

Some might question why you would buy the CF version if you're going to paint it though. :-P

CF version is good if you want to add another kg ;-)

Because if it were a true CF part, it'd weigh hardly anything, and you might want the weight saving but keeping it looking standard.

Yes, fibreglass or fibreglass with CF top layer.

I checked the SuperGT site, but can only find the CF topped one. If I do get around to getting one, it'll be getting painted, so yeah, CF is wasted
