No spark

So I've developed a bit of an issue where my car has no spark.

-Checked all fuses and they were all okay
-Bridged the IFS and blew the ignition fuse
-Replaced IFS and still no go
-Bridged the IFS again and blew the fuse again
-Checked another coil pack out of a Yaris and still no spark
-Crank sensor and TPS is logging from evoscan so clearly they work
- I have no cel codes


Any ideas? Is there something else that can cut spark? Something else I can check?

The problem started when I was working on my car the other day and decided to put the bolt which holds down the cooler pipe to the front rocker cover back in while the car was running. I touched the bolt on the pipe and the mount at the same time and it produced a spark and then the engine died. I know that makes no sense but thats what happened and I cant explain it.

I should also mention I'm running a cop kit

If you unplug all the coil packs and bridge the ifs does it blow the fuse then? Check your earth's.
The spark from y pipe to rocker is the most concerning to me

I bridged the wrong terminals and blew
The fuse. I think ur doing it wrong.

Kinda sounds like one of the wires that goes to the IFS is shorted to earth. I'd check all along the lengths of those looking for bare wires that have rubbed through. Especially since you are jumping the IFS and it's blowing the fuse.

Just a stab. Did u take the manifold off? Is there a possibility that u have pinched a live wire as when u have fitted the y pipe is shorted through the front rocker ifs loom? Pretty sure the manifold has an earth loop on it so don't know why it's shorted through the front rocker. Unless the front rocker is positive from a coil pack feed causing it to short through y pipe and plenum. If front rocker is positive it may be insulated from gaskets and bolt rubber grommets. Multi meter is ur friend.

My thought is that it's a 12 volt line that's been pinched but it's one that's triggered by the IFS. So, say there is +12 volts into the IFS which switches this circuit on and off. Jumping the IFS causes the permanent short and POOF, blown fuse.

I don't know the circuit diagram for the IFS though so I am merely speculating.

Okay so I made progress!

I unplugged the coils, bridged the IFS, cranked it and it didn't blow the ign fuse.

So from this information it would seem one/some/all my coils are fried?

Would I be correct in assuming this?

disconnect coils and and do a continuity check on all wires..

also, I do recall you've recently removed your plenum and its assemblies?

just wanted to confirm that none of the wires got pinched
