Partners car is F#%$ED Any Ideas

Holden Astra 2006 Manual done 80,000 K's
She started the car in gear yesterday and bunny hopped forward. Now the gear box is jammed 1st is where neutral was and Reverse is where 5th was mind you it used to be where 1st was. No amount of grinding chrunching rolling or bunny hopping is helping.
Any ideas or suggestions ?

It is FWD, check the linkages.

Yep, stretched/****ed a linkage I would say. See if you can find where the selector is on the box itself and knock in into neutral (using a hammer if need be) then get it on a tow truck to a dealer/mechanic to sort out

Agreed, simple fix, just the linkages.

VR-4's do the same thing, on the back of the box about 10cm from where the cables go in there is a pair of U shaped brackets that are connected to the U brackets on the gearbox via 4 pieces of 3mm thick rubber and glue. Over time these break down and do the exact same thing you're talking about here.

When you get it to the mechanic, get them to change the cam belt, they're notorious for shredding them early...
