Perhaps this could be made a sticky? Would be good to have a general thread where generic questions can be asked in regards to having particular work carried out on your car.

I know we have legendary Steve for mechanical work and tuning etc but the thread could also serve a purpose for other required work such as stereo installs, window tinting, suspension install/coilover setup/counter weighting, detailing, crash repair shops, fabricating etc

For example, I've got a set of coilovers to go into the GTR and have been referred to two workshops (Road & Race Performance, and VSport) to have them installed & set up however whilst both of them are in the middle of whoop whoop compared to where I live, one of them is charging through the roof, and the other is cheaper but even further away. Now, whilst I am able to install the coilovers myself - having them set up/correct height/counter weight the corners/wheel alignment etc would best be done at somewhere other than Bob Janes...

Any suggestions? Ideally North Shore but suggest away...

SUSPENSION: I suggest heasman steering and suspension. Been there and It's good, Doug is the person that worked on my car. Apparently not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. They do corner weight too.

For the North Shore I recommend Arcus Automotive in Artarmon. They do everything but used to specialise in suspension I believe.

They fixed up some dodgy window wiring on my gf's car and installed a new regulator. The wiring shorted out the next day (doubt it was their fault, looking at the wiring from the previous installer...) and they fixed it up without charge, no hassles.

Plus that thread is a general Aus wide one Joey, not a state/local specific one (which each state section could probably benefit from).

Being new to Sydney, and NSW (one of the inconveniences of being in defence, going to cities you grew up not liking ) this will be good for us newbies to get an idea of what good workshops are about. As there isn't many car people at work so this is a big help.
