1 AYC Bar
Hi guys,
just thought I'd post about this for anyone who has this issue in the future.
I've had an issue with my AYC since Tuesday night where it started lighting up all three bars when moving at low speed in straight line. My extreme powers of deduction told me that something was amiss so I disabled the AYC and plugged in my trusty EvoScan cable which flashed up error code 33 which is the steering sensor.
I've been reading into how to check the sensor by checking the voltage in the AYC ECU connector but the ECU is up in behind the dash and a real bitch to get at. I have noticed that you can hear a kind of rubbing noise when I turn the steering wheel so I'm pretty sure the fault code is accurate.
My second plan of attack was to remove the steering wheel and take a look at the sensor (following Glys instructions for safetly changing the wheel of course...). However the torx screws in each side as stuck fast and I eventually gave up. So now I'm waiting to hear from a local Evo specialist as to when they can take a look.
