Anybody know much about these cars?

Seems to had replaced the Caldina in '02 and was manufactured until '07. AWD or RWD drivetrains, 1JZ-GTE option, pretty luxo but unfortunately all auto (which isn't terrible, just a little dissapointing).

Could be a good replacement for those Legnums getting a bit old and tired in a couple of years.

Not the prettiest of vehicles either unfortunately.

2012 VW Caddy 1.6TDI 7-Speed DSG. Still crappy DSG.....
It looks like a car for the American market, i.e., butt-ugly.

Would a 1JZ be getting a bit long in the tooth by that time?

Indeed it is ugly!

I dunno about it being too old, take the 4G63 for example it has been used since the mid-late eighties! Puts out decent power, gives reasonable fuel economy and is easy to mod.

Looks like a Lexus gone wrong from the front and the rear quarter panel screams funeral car ...

Plus one to the funeral car comment! Wonder if the car would hold together after a few mods to the 1JZ

There was a feature on these in one of the HPI mags recently. From memory they thought they were ok but were put off by the over 1700kg kerb weight.
