What have I broken, I Need Help!

I was driving along yesterday and i lost 2nd, 4th and reverse gears.

got the car home on 1st, and 3rd. all the selector cables seem to be ok.
Got the RAA out and they think that i may have broken a selector fork or selector pin.....

Any ideas, im going to take it to a workshop next week for them to see if they can find the problem, im hoping its nothing to do with the gearbox's internals

broken selector cable support on the gear box, (external)

you'll need to take the airbox/intake pipes off to see it

i pulled all the intake stuff off and it looked all ok, ill pull it apart again and try to see if i can find anything broken

get someone to move the shifter while your looking,

ok i found the problem, Gly you where right one of the selector cable supports are broken.

I have one problem how do i get the shifter cables out of the brackets??

to remove,

lift the tab out thats circled in yellow,

to fix,

drill and nut/bolt it together,

yellow = Bolt,
Blue = Lock Nut (nylock)

drill theu the brackets with a 7mm drill, both sides,

use a 6mm bolt and locknut combo, do them up so its back together, but leave them loose enough so there is some (tiny) play in the joint.

has to be a lock nut so it wont come undone.

thanks for the help, i managed to get the tabs out and fix it all up. I now have all gears again

Total cost of $7

better than paying a workshop to look at it

Hi folks, I've been pointed in the direction by a member on clubvr4.
I have this exact issue with my Legnum at the moment, and need a bit of help.
"tab out thats circled in yellow" How do you do that? I cant get it to move at all.

lol.. well when it happened to me, i had 3 passengers going off my ear when i was slowing down from 80kph to make a left turn.. when i was about to enter the street and change gears from 4th to 2nd, i realized i couldn't, for a second i saw everything in front of me in slow motion and in the same time tried to think of what to do.. so instead of me slowing down and holding up traffic, i saw and moved to the shoulder lane and put on my hazard lights..

Mine went on a track day when I was giving it full berries, rather embarrasing!

I got the bracket undone, but cant get those tabs out, they look welded or something, but I now have enough movement to drill in-situ.

hm , not sure if i am having the same problem...maybe some one can help

today when i am driving, everything its ok but when i get close to home, the gear change seems so shaking all the time and then later i find i can only got into 2nd and reverse only
i lost 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th
cant anyone help?
