ADVICE NEEDED, gear box whine

To be honest, I wouldn't buy the car.

There's no point in buying a car that has a whine coming from the gearbox. Unless it has dog-cut gears (which I highly doubt), it shouldn't be making any noises at all.

Dog engagement gears won't produce a whine. Straight cut will.
