i've had a look at my car at w/shop and there is only 1 key it has the remote central locking on it. where would i buy another? is it possible to buy a replacement and program it to the car. i think the gto that i had you could switch the central locking module to program mode so it would program the new key. anybody know david
Yes - the Galants use the same generic Mitsubishi key as many of the local models from memory. Another good option is an immobiliser/alarm with the central locking built in - kill two birds with one stone.
i tried to get a spare key aswell so i went into mitsubishi to see if they could get one but they couldn't get one either. would be nice to have a spare
I'm not sure about keys that have the button on them for remote locking, but you should be able to get normal keys cut anywhere!
The part number i am coming up with on CAPS The PN/ for the Single Button key is 82648 Can Brad or Gly please check this
there $260nz unprogrammed... special order item from japan. better to spend the extra cash on an alarm with central locking... there are two types, a pre and a post facelift key, the prefacelift is a single buttom lock/unlock, the facelift has seperate lock unlock buttons.
yep he's right, the facelift ones have two buttons $260 is too much though, that damned near buys a full alarm system.
LOL yep bunnings ftw. and surely you would be considering a car alarm for it anyways, as chef said, get it integrated with the central locking, thats my plan
I got immobliser with central locking remote which bypassed the factory one in the key so now can just get ordinary key cut for about $10 or what ever it normally cost. I think immobliser cost about $150.
