Gear Knob On Automatic Shift

I have seen this before a few times and I wonder how you do it?
Basically it's a customised gear knob (that you see on manual cars) but its on an automatic. So im wondering how you take off the automatic shift and put a manaul one on pleasE?

i have a razo chrome knob on my auto when i got it, still got it in the cardboard i think. mine is just held on with a hex bolt.
