FUTURE VR4 REPLACEMENT

Hey guys.
Been sort of covered before that in a few years when its time to move into a new twin turbo 4WD wagon the Audi RS is probably the best replacement.
Still big bucks and will probably be 6-7 years before we can get a sniff at a deal at auction for a V10RS6.
Found this pic and its good to know that audi runs 10.3psi only and runs small turbos.
When my son is 18 I think he may get tempted to buy a 571HP RS6 and upgrade the turbos to garretts and I dont see how a exhaust and standard other mods wont have this car around the 800HP mark.
Its insane but I can wait till someone does it.
I am also keen to find out how much hp audi built the gearbox for.
They reccon that in one of the test cars they had plenty of mods and running high boost and went around the ring in well under 8min.

Good to see that in the age of hybrids we will still see for the next 10 years or more these second hand super twin turbos and I cant wait to make lots of money over the next 12 months and get a 4.2 V8 2002 or so RS6 and modify it.
For now will just see how much more power the new garretts bring to the vr4 but am looking to the future.
Also would love to modify a E55 bi turbo as I think that would also be insane.

personally i dont know why u would update ur vr4. i mean if u want a awd boosted car, vr4 wins bang for buck no doubt. if i wanted to change, it would be due to wanting a different platform.

The only reason i'd go for a RS6 is displacement and age..

The RS6's are auto only and weigh 2.2t (the previous v8 model is about 2.0t)

I wouldn't consider one a replacement for a VR-4. I would however consider a 350S M35 Stagea (350z engine, trans, diff, 6 speed man), a H6 3.0 2004-2009 shape 6 speed man Legacy with two turbos, and err thats about it!

The RS4 is pretty good but too close to the vr4 as its a 2.7ltr twin turbo.
I am thinking of the RS6 in terms of Getting one around $20,000US delivered to kyrgyzstan.
Would have to buy it around $13K US mark. So car would have to be high kms and repaired and via auction from japan.
Saw one last year for $18K so think one may pop up in a few months.
Reason why it would be cool is 4.2 V8 and standard 8 piston brembos Fr. + 4 pot rears.
Leather electric recaros.
All car would need is exhaust. IC piping upgrade. A piggy back ecu with boost control and I dont see how it wouldnt put out at least 550HP.
So to mod it would cost peanuts as all expensive items are already standard.
Its an auto but paddle shift on the wheel so still pretty cool.
If sales before Xmas go well and one pops up at auction I dont think I will let it go.

I am with you on this one mate and I don’t care what anyone says – I drove one of those bad boys in Malaysia ( after driving a 960hp R34 GTR grrrrr) and it was an insane car!

I swear it pulled harder than an adolescent boy!

I loved The RS6’s for a long time now and would not hesitate if had thousands just sitting around they are just porn.

Sure its expensive and cant beat the value for money of my beloved VR4 ( mucho mucho Love ) but RS6 is in a different league and a class.
Its like comparing a D&%k to a finger

Go for it man and then Take me for a spin once I come to check out the Alcohol/Bars/Hot Girls in Kyrgyzstan

Man I would LOVE an RS6 or an RS4.. Like, I don't care, I'd be a very happy man with one! If I had a chance to get one, I'd get one :)

Saw an RS6 Avant on the way to work today, it looked so fat and awesome! I was hoping he was going to floor it passed so I could hear it, but he was being a major nanna driver lol

They make me sad too, but flat 4s and mum's Renault Clio Sport are exceptions IMHO. You'd be much better off doing a turbo Golf R32 than a turbo EZ30R Legacy.

The twin turbo H6 would go nuts!

How do the 2.5L single go? The Liberty is quite heavy so it wouldn't be as quick as hoped?

Liberty's heavy compared to what? The pre-facelift 2.0l 5sp GTs were 1440kg and the last-of-the-line 2.5L 6sp GT-Bs are 1545kg, and the majority of the weight gain in the GT-B is because of the 6sp manual - which is physically huge compared to the 5sp, and a lot stronger. Also the post-facelift models have less aluminium - think the bonnet and a couple of other things went back to being steel. 160kW ATW with a full TBE and tune is no problem. Turbos are twin-scroll and pretty decent, but you can always upgrade...

The biggest disadvantage with the EZ30R is that it's longer, heavier and sits further forward, so it's not as well balanced, and it has to be fully rebuilt with custom pistons etc. From the stock 180kW output, they can be tuned to a max of approx 200.

Guys the RS6 in the hands of a 4wd twin turbo fan like me or you would be an awsome car on the road.
Would be better here in Kyrgyzstan as speeding fines are still around $5.
Its so rare to see a nice car like the RS6 or amg55 driven hard as they are not a ferrari down chappel st and almost always in the hands of an old lawyer or bean counter.
Would be curious where all the wight in the RS6 comes from and if it is not too hard to shed 150-200kg.
For now I hope to get my car back from the repairs any day now and then its off for the garrett install and hope it runs like the RS4 if not better.

So how expensive would it be to pick up an RS6 or something over there? Price difference between here and there would be..?

I always saw the Liberty as a heavy car.. They just look heavy! Hell, I had one and I didn't realise it was slightly lighter than the VR4!
