Who can guess what my new car is?

Access denied for both of the links... Have registered, but not paid the money... forums like these whould be free.. (well my thoughts).

Can you copy info into this forum?

Rasi - it is about 3 pages long, but you should definitely be able to access about 20 or so forums on clubvr4 without paying.

Lee - yeah you're right first time, 850CSi :D

The 850csi is a nice looking bit of gear, looks a bit like a Shark :)

V12 = two VR-4's, so you should like it !!

a free drive in it if you come over :)

Mark - not quite, it makes 280kw in stock form, my VR-4 is more like 300kw, and weighs about 500kg less. I'm buying it because it is a 6 speed manual and a V12 - which is imho the perfect form for a car to be.

It will be a big handful in the wet!

It will make an awesome cruiser I reckon. They have bags of torque too (as you would expect from a V12 lol)

How long till you get it ?

you lucky bugger! It's also a car I've been wanting ever since it came out, do you think I could collect Lee's prize on his behalf? I have some eye-teeth left :P

Ryan - I've always wanted one too :D

Mark - about 2 months, I can't wait!

As it was being driven to go onto Belfast docks by Barry from cvr4

Forgive my curiosity but how come you're sourcing it from the UK of all places?

I guess that explains the 2 month wait.

So now if it's a 850 CSI does that make a 5.6L V12?

There were only 160 RHD 850CSi's made and approx 150 went to the UK, so it was a good place to start looking :)

there were 5 engines put into the production models:

4.0l V8 = 840i
4.4l V8 = 840Ci
5.0l V12 = 850i
5.4l V12 = 850Ci
5.6l V12 = 850CSi

Well the UK would be a logical place to go looking then :P

And that was going to be my next question - LHD or RHD but u answered that.

Looks damn hot, i love it! Manual, V12, i want one too.....

we can't import LHD cars here. Stupid BS rules! If it wasn't for that i would have been able to buy a silver 850CSi in LHD about 3 months ago for 8000 pounds, and there was a black 850CSi RHD with only one airbag for 9000 pounds, and I couldn't import that because of our stupid rules which require dual front air bags. The E31 is one of the safest cars in the world, BMW crashed nearly 100 of them in development and spent well over a billion US dollars developing it.And besides, I don't have a girlfriend, and I'm the only one that is in my car about 99% of the time, so what the hell do I need a passenger airbag for?

I think your engine should last a long time using the Alusil alloy - the text below is taken from Wikipedia

Alusil as a hypereutectic aluminum alloy with a high silicon content created in 1927 by Schweizer & Fehrenbach [1] of Baden-Baden Germany and further developed by Kolbenschmidt [2]. The Alusil aluminum alloy is commonly used to make linerless aluminum engine blocks. Alusil, when etched, will expose a very hard silicon precipitate. The silicon surface is porous enough to hold oil and is an excellent bearing surface. BMW switched from Nikasil coated cylinder walls to Alusil in 1996 to eliminate the corrosion problems caused through the use of sulfur containing gasoline.
Engines using Alusil include:
