Thinking about it Matt, I am not sure that bypassing the boost control solenoid will stop boost cut. Boost cut is there because it's the ECU's way of protecting against overboost. Just thinking that bypassing the BCS will just prevent the ECU from fighting the boost setting you are manually applying.

I now think that the only way around your boost cut is a flash.

Matt, I wasn't aware that you were getting boost cuts.. have you tried looking for leaks?

Paul/Trev, Yep, got it once coming home. It stopped raining for a bit so I thought I'd just test it and BAM, the dirt wasn't gone :(

Mike, not sure as I don't have a boooooost gauge yet. :/

Christian, I guess it's possible but being all factory (mbc aside) I didn't think that'd be an issue. Would getting an OBDII cable and monitoring the ECU tell me when it was happening?

Glad you all had a good day, still pissed off at myself, but thats all I want to talk about that lol.

Matt you need to get a boost gauge, trying to tune a boost controller with no gauge? of course your gonna hit cut. And Trev is right, only way to remove the boost cut is a flash tune. What controller you end up getting?

Yes if you can monitor the 2 byte load you could work out the percentage load you are hitting and dial it back from that but really, get a gauge on it (borrow one from a friend/decent workshop whatever) and set it up. Or do it properly and flash it....

Right, so the bypass is useless then without a tune? I guess it'll have to wait and I'll just put up with it.

Chris, I haven't changed any setting on the MBC since the day Trev put it on and even so, it was only a very small increase.

Looks like I've still got a lot to learn about how it works... no matter, maybe it'll just be easier if I stick it back to stock *shrugs*

Bypassing the factory solenoid shouldn't make any difference to boost cut, it just stops the factory boost control fighting with the after market boost control. Matt you need a boost gauge? I have one Im not using anymore you can have for free, let me know if you want.

how's your Power Steering and AYC? feels better?!
Power steering is great. AYC seems to be better, although because it's been shithouse weather and I've had the family in the car, I haven't tried it out properly yet :)

Chris, that'd be awesome if you don't use it anymore... sure you don't want anything for it?

Hey mate I've got a Gizzmo MS2 It comes with a boost cut option. Digital boost reading in psi or bar. scramble options and also a closed and open circuit options. Just throwing it out there havent tuned it right yet as clutch is slipping anything past 7 psi.
