Yeah trounced is right you know ... how can you trust the translations ?
What if some of the vital stuff is wrong ?
Going from the amount of money they should receive you'd hope it was good. I'm happy to give it go and try translate some of it ... might try find some Japanese people to confirm ...

JPNZ specialise in technical manual translation, and you can find their manuals around for a variety of JDM cars. I'm confident their work will be top-notch, but I'll bounce it off Michael to get an official response :)

Wes I'll check to make sure they've got you in their database

In response to your questions, Michael sent me this example of what their manuals look like. He also had this to say:

"we have been doing this type of work for more than 10 years now so it will be perfect."

So I don't think there's anything to worry about :)

It's already mentioned, that is the owner's manual...not the workshop manual ;)

Kev read through the thread - there's details on the previous page. We're all itchin' to get this going, but until we get that magic 150 confirmed expressions of interest there's not a hell of a lot we can do.

On the subject of the owner's manual, Michael said he might be able to organise a discount for a group buy, so anyone interested PM me and if I get enough initial interest I'll start a dedicated thread for it (and for those wondering, the owner's manuals we got from the compliance workshop aren't actually for our cars - they're for the USDM galant, which is a substantially different beast).

I wonder if the owners manual has info on the MMCS if it was to come available?

Hmm, not sure Emanuel... Might be worth looking through the Japanese version for that, as the English version will just be a translation of what that contains.

Indeed Thank you Trevor!!;)

Yes, I am very pleased to announce that ClubVR-4 is bulk purchasing 20 manuals, which we will sell via the club shop to any future members and/or anyone who wants one but hasn't signed up for one. As a result, JPNZ will commence translation of the manuals despite us not having reached the 150 trigger level - JPNZ are happy that there's now enough requests for them to absorb the remainder!:D

Also, JPNZ have agreed that all copies of the workshop manuals will feature logos and contact details for both ClubVR-4 and OzVR-4 in the inside of the front cover as a thankyou!
So there you go!! Excellent news!:)

On a personal note, I'd like to publicly thank the UK and NZ Club Committee members for agreeing to the funding, Trevor (Silicon Angel) for banging the drum on OzVR4 side and keeping in touch with updates, and also Mike McCarthy at JPNZ for agreeing to commence translation. Spot on guys, there'll be a lot of happy enthusiasts thanks to you all!!:D:D

Finally, and most importantly, Thank you to you guys in both CVR4 and OZVR4 for rallying around and pre-ordering the manuals - You've made what a few years ago we thought impossible into a reality!!!:):)

Whoooo Hoooo, this is great news. Well done trev for pestering enough people into ordering one, and thanks to CVR4 for picking up the remaining orders. Whats the wait now? Was it six months for translation or six weeks that i read somewhere?

Massive public thanks to Kieran's fantastic lobbying effort, and of course to the CVR4 committee for ordering 20 copies - we're all indebted to you guys!

I'd also like to thank Ian Beadle (VR4Pilot) who was the first one to notice JPNZ's VR4 Workshop Manual page - without that extremely fortuituous discovery we wouldn't even know about it!

On a more serious note, we should all receive an email from JPNZ within the next few days requesting deposit payment. If you start reading here that deposits are being collected and you've signed up but HAVEN'T seen an email requesting your deposit, please PM me with your details (Name and email account you registered with) so I can chase it up with JPNZ.
